I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.
– Eph 1:18, 19 (NASB)
The harlot church (Rev 17:1-6; 18:1-4) and her sin-loving daughters “who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality” (Jud 1:4 NIV) claim that the Christian is still human and, therefore, must still sin in word, thought, and deed daily.
“Let God be true, but every man a liar” (Rom 3:4 KJV).
The following scriptures clearly show that with real Bible salvation through Christ, there comes the power to overcome every temptation to sin.
God Promises the Power to Overcome Sin:
Rom 12:21 NASB Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
1Co 10:13 NASB No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.
1Co 15:57 NASB but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Co 12:10 NASB Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
Col 1:11 NASB strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously
Eph 3:20 NASB Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,
Col 1:13 NASB For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
Heb 2:18 NASB For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.
1Pe 1:5 (KJV) Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
2Pe 1:3 NASB seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
2Pe 1:10 NASB Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;
2Pe 2:9 NASB then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,
Jud 1:24 NASB Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,
1Jn 2:14 NASB I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
1Jn 4:4 NASB You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
1Jn 5:4 NASB For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith.
1Jn 5:5 NASB Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Rev 2:7 NASB ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will grant to eat of the tree of life which is in the Paradise of God.’
Rev 2:11 NASB ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.’
Rev 2:17 NASB ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows but he who receives it.’
Rev 2:26, 27 NASB ‘He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, TO HIM I WILL GIVE AUTHORITY OVER THE NATIONS; AND HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON, AS THE VESSELS OF THE POTTER ARE BROKEN TO PIECES, as I also have received authority from My Father;
Rev 3:5 NASB ‘He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
Rev 3:12 NASB ‘He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name.
Rev 3:21 NASB ‘He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
Rev 21:7 NASB “He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.
Beware of Those That Deny the Power To Overcome Sin:
2Ti 3:5 NASB holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.
2Pe 2:14, 15 NASB having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed, accursed children; forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
Jud 1:4 NIV For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
